Date: 10/13/26 6:06 pm From: 'Meredith McBurney' via Colorado Birds <cobirds...> Subject: [cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 10/13/26
The cooler weather did not (yet) produce more birds, but we had some
interesting species....our 3rd Sharp-shinned Hawk, our 2nd Brown Creeper,
and our 1st Winter Wren. It was also wonderful to not have to close early
due to the heat and to not be sweating.......
Here's the full breakdown of the 12 new birds today:
Sharp-shinned Hawk 1
Brown Creeper 1
Winter Wren 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2
White-crowned Sparrow 5 new, 1 banded last fall
Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 1
If the weather report is correct, it will be raining the next day or so, so
we may have our first closures due to rain this season. (Whew!)
