Subject: [cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report- August 26, 2026
Today was not as busy as yesterday. Congrats to Meredith and Barr Lake
Volunteers for handling so many birds yesterday! Four new species for the
season include Brewer's and Chipping Sparrow, Cassin's Vireo, and Western
Tanager. Most flycatchers we observed yesterday were absent today. A couple
Wilson's Warblers hung around from yesterday and both gained half a gram
each.

N. Yellow Warbler- 6
Orange-crowned Warbler- 3
Western Wood-Pewee- 2
Willow Flycatcher- 1
Northern House Wren- 3
Brewer's Sparrow- 1
Chipping Sparrow- 1
Western Tanager- 1
Cassin's Vireo- 1
Gray Catbird- 4
Brown Thrasher- 2

Red-breasted Nuthatch

The banding station will be open tomorrow through Saturday @ sunrise until
11:30 AM. Stop by the banding station and share your sightings. Please
