Despte yet another night of unfavorable NW winds, light though they may have been, a modest count of nighthawks made it past. Myfirst visitor, David Adrien, hailing all the way from Massachusetts, arrived before me and already put some points on the board. Along came Randy Langer who spotted them far and wide. But if I heard his disappointing cry once I heard it a thousand times: "Single bird...." But you know he is a team player when the largest flock of the count showed up minutes after he left.
Soon the aforementioned gentlemen were replaced by Kathy Wheeler and Sue Francesco, generously providing comfort, society, and good will. But I could not reciprocate because the nighthawks stopped flying by then and, worst of all, I forgot the chocolate!
