Visitors: 16 Not bad considering the road was closed the first half of the day and it rained in the afternoon.
Weather: Could see to the base of the Sandwich range upon arrival. Their peaks were obscured by low clouds. Haze increased throughout the morning as I lost peaks in the distance one by one leaving just Crotched mountain as a landmark. As I was watching the haze thicken I almost missed the narrow band of heavy showers approaching from the SW. The count was interrupted from 12:30-1:30 EST as I took shelter in the picnic pavilion. Temperatures warmed from 62 F to 68 F just before the rain arrived.
Raptor Observations: There was a bottom of the hour trend today. The first migrant of the season was a bald eagle just before 11 DST. A sharp- shinned hawk moved on just before noon DST. Both moved SW into the breeze. Just before 1 PM DST, two broad-winged hawks moved on to the SE.
Non-raptor Observations: A Black-throated blue warbler and 4 chipping sparrows felt unusual for the site. They were seen first thing in the morning.

Butterflies: American Lady/Red-spotted Admiral/Red-spotted purple
