Around noon, I had a Solitary Sandpiper and the bird we’ve decided to call
a Neotropic Cormorant, at Devereux. There are a lot shorebirds, still.
Birds are moving around a bit. The Solitary was visible across from the
southern pullout when I arrived, then disappeared, before reappearing
farther down toward the mouth. But a large concentration of Westerns (with
only one Least!) was very near the turnout the entire time, with Red-necked
Phalaropes, Semipalm Plovers, etc.
Earlier, Florence Sanchez and I had the Black-and-white Warbler in the west
part of the Goleta tech park, but things were fairly quiet there overall.
Winchester One was a little quiet, too. Both places had just a sprinkling
of Yellow and Orange-crowned Warblers, with a single Wilson’s at the tech
park.
