Weather: The South Lookout 'socked in' at the start of the day, and progressively cleared; late afternoon had the best visibility of 20 miles. Overcast skies all day. The temperatures were mostly in the 70's, cooler than usual August temps. Southerly winds 3-8 mph with some afternoon gusting.
Raptor Observations: Immature Bald Eagle passed over head along the ridge at noon. Morning flight path was over the hump and across the South Lookout (NE to SW) Afternoon flight path was higher and along the ridge.
Non-raptor Observations: Scarlet Tanager; Cedar Waxwing; Common Raven (2); and heard Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Red/Orange striped with black glow worm. Several non-migrating juvenile Red Tail Hawks passed each way multiple times during the day. 3 juvenile non-migrating raptors tooled and fooled around in the bowl at the start of the day and the end of the day.
Predictions: Early morning rain and perhaps thunderstorms with temps in the 60's and winds from the south east.
