Subject: [Tweeters] Juvenile Black Chinned Hummingbirds in Seattle?!

I have a water mister outside my window that puts me about 3’ from all the birds that visit it. This morning there were two hummingbirds who sat in the mist for a very long time, and they were not Anna’s. In fact, an Anna’s came by while they were there, making the size difference unmistakable. They were there for so long that I was able to get a really good look at them. Wing white tips. White belly. Hint of a collar. I wonder if the fires in B.C. and Eastern WA are pushing migrants westward. These birds were definitely resting and taking full advantage of the opportunity to clean every feather.

I’m in the Central District neighborhood, Seattle.

Jill
