Subject: [NHBirds] 76 Common Nighthawks - Franklin Falls
At last, tonight the three day drought ended, as unfavorable NW winds turned and blew from the SE.  After counting none each of the last three nights I savored each one tonight.  They seemed to be lazily floating along, mostly southbound.  Many were counted as singles and pairs which we don't see very often.  I stayed late enough to witness a spectacular sunset; this is nighthawk watching at its finest, regardless of the numbers.
