The impact that Ed Brogie had as an high school science teacher, naturalist, environmental educator, science fair facilitator, executive director of the Junior Academy of Sciences, archery instructor, field trip leader, birder, friend, mentor, volunteer, and decades-long NOU member…along with countless other endeavors…cannot truly be estimated.
Along with his myriad accomplishments, Ed was one of the elite birders in the state of Nebraska. His 407 species ranks #6 all-time and his 2018 Nebraska Big Year holds the #5 spot at 339. He sparked interest in birds and birding everywhere he went and will truly be missed by the NOU community. His legacy will live on in the thousands of lives he touched over the course of his life.
