Tweets - Another pleasant but quiet day at Marymoor. Bird numbers in general were very low, but we did manage to notice some birds.
Highlights: Killdeer - A flock of 15 or more; recently we've mostly had 1-2 Spotted Sandpiper - One flying down the slough Cooper's Hawk - Three sightings, but possibly all the same juvenile. First since June Purple Martin - One or two heard from the Lake Platform were our only swallows Swainson's Thrush - 2nd straight week where only heard predawn and otherwise undetected Red Crossbill - At least 3 in trees around Concert Venue Orange-crowned Warbler - 1 or 2 Northern Yellow Warbler - 2 or 3 Western Tanager - 2 or 3
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, BEWICK'S WREN, and PURPLE FINCH all seemed particularly abundant.
A Common Raven may have been heard/glimpsed. I also had one flycatcher that appeared to have an eye-ring, so possibly Western or Hammond's.
Misses today included Hooded Merganser, Vaux's Swift, Barn Swallow, Red-winged Blackbird, Brown-headed Cowbird, Black-throated Gray Warbler, and Black-headed Grosbeak.
For the day, 52 species.
