Subject: [Maine-birds] Carolina wren behavior
Interesting territorial behavior at dawn. A Carolina wren sings a full song
from a tree close to our house and then sings a shorter version of just 4
notes, repeatedly, from different places in the surrounding woods, as he is
defining his territory. Fascinating. The distant, shorter songs will endure
for 10 or more iterations.
